Left unchecked, it <\/span><b>can <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">do some serious damage to your PageRank. The good news is that it\u2019s quite easy to defend against the most common tactics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Pay attention to where your traffic is coming from. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a tool like SEO Spyglass to check for links that come from spammy sites such as link farms. When you find bad links use the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/webmasters\/tools\/disavow-links-main?pli=1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google Disavow Tool<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to ensure they don\u2019t harm your ranking. <\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Check for content scrapers. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Copyscape is your friend here.
